Helping leaders and teams navigate change, conflict & growth.
Facilitation, training, mediation, coaching, and consulting for healthy, safe, and effective workplaces.
Hi, I’m Erin Westman.
I help teams do good work together. That might mean guiding a team through a strategic planning session, helping two colleagues find their way through a conflict, training leaders to support mental health at work, or coaching someone through a challenging situation in their career.
My story
My work in conflict resolution and psychological health and safety is rooted in experiences early in my management career. After inheriting a team with longstanding, entrenched conflict, I sought support from conflict management professionals and discovered how workplace relationships, communication, and culture shape both team performance and employee well-being.
Working in organizations with very different workplace climates further reinforced my commitment to helping teams build trust, navigate difficult conversations, and create healthier ways of working together.
My background
I have 25 years of public sector experience, working in a variety of roles including Indigenous claims negotiations, litigation management, policy analysis, change management, and workplace mental health. Prior to entering the workforce, I earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Calgary.
I’ve completed over 200 hours of dispute resolution training including mediation, conflict coaching, consensus decision making, and interest-based negotiation. My facilitation background includes 70 hours of training in group facilitation methods and effective event design with ICA Associates.
I received my certification as a Psychological Health and Safety Advisor from the Canadian Mental Health Association in 2022, and became a certified facilitator for The Working Mind mental health training in 2025. I’ve also completed
How I work
Every workplace is different, so I don't believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. My approach is:
Practical. The work should lead to changes your team can actually use and sustain.
Respectful. I make space for different perspectives and communication styles.
Impartial. In facilitation and mediation, I don't take sides. My role is to help people generate solutions that work for them.
Confidential. What's shared with me stays with me, within the limits of the engagement and the law.
Steady. Difficult conversations are easier with someone who stays calm and keeps the process moving.
Trauma-informed. Many people carry difficult experiences into the workplace. I work with care, transparency, and choice, so people can take part at their own pace.
A bit about me
I’m grateful to live, work, and play in Amiskwacîwâskahikan, also known as Edmonton, Alberta. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time in nature and exploring the city by bike and on foot.
